Travel Items Requiring Special Approval
In accordance with the Business and Finance Bulletin cited below,
I am hereby delegating to each of you, in your respective areas
of authority, the following regarding exceptions to University
policy on travel:
Bus#G-28 (June 14, 1991) -- Policy and Regulations Governing
Travel, Section II, D. Exceptions.
3. An exception may be granted when required due to
extenuating circumstances. The exception must specify
the purpose, circumstance or need, dates of travel, and
the name of the individual to whom the exception is
granted. When an exception has been granted, the
reimbursement of expenses claimed shall be limited to
the actual costs incurred, provided such costs are
deemed to be ordinary and necessary under the circum-
stances. Claims for the reimbursement of actual
expenses must be supported by receipts.
4. An exception may be granted to adopt local travel
procedures which are more restrictive than the
regulations contained in this Bulletin.
This delegation supersedes any prior redelegation on the subject,
most notably my individual delegations to the Vice Chancellor--
Administration, the Vice Chancellor--Student Services, the Vice
Chancellor--University Relations and Development, and the
Associate Vice Chancellor--Enrollment Management on June 8, 1988.
This authority may not be further redelegated.
Sincerely,
Rosemary S.J. Schraer
Chancellor
