         Authorize Start Date for Preference for Reemployment





The Chancellor delegated to the Director -- Human Resources the

authority to authorize that preference for reemployment begin with the

date of layoff notice when written notice of indefinite layoff or

reduction in time is given more than two months prior to layoff date

(per Staff Policy 60.F.2).



This delegation is referenced in an October 9, 1997 letter from the

Chancellor to the Director -- Human Resources, addressing a wide

variety of HR issues. Copies of this letter may be obtained from

the Administrative Budget Office.
